  1. Hello, fist Thank you for all the video they are very helpful , I just bought the Nikon d500 and currently have the 55-300 mm 1.4.5 5.6 ged bought for sports photo but i am currently in basketball season and i have to turn the iso up high due do low lighting in the gym would you suggest a lens for the nikond500 for shooting basketball (high school)

  2. Hey Theo

hey thanks for this video. wish i had of seen it earlier.

i have a d500 and i shoot sailing boats which typically means i can easily fill the frame. i have the tamron 70 to 200 great lens and a nikon 80 to 400 afs which has incredible VR and the range is perfect for me as i cant always stay the same distance away fromnthe subject but i haven't been wrapped with the 80 to 400 on the d500. it doesnt seem that sharp. im thinking the 200 to 500 or putting it on a d810.

my goal is to get super sharp high res so you can zoom in and still have detail.

also because i shoot so many images per race i dont want to crop in edit as it just takes so long.

    what do you think

  3. Just ordered the D500 and should be receiving it tomorrow. I'll be using it for high school football and basketball. I can't afford the new Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8E so what do you recommend between the Nikon 80-200 f/2.8 and the Tamron 70-200 f/2.8? I believe the 80-200mm doesn't have image stabilization, correct?

  4. I just got a Nikon d750 and like landscapes and bsby/child photography. I'm looking for a 35mm or wider angle. The widest focal length I have right now is a 50mm 1.8G. I was looking at the 12-24mm or the 23mm you suggest in the video, but I'm open to suggestions. What do you think?

  5. The only DX lens I own for my backup camera which is the D5500, is the Sigma 18 – 35 1.8, I freaking love that glass, it's as sharp as any of my full frame ones. It is always in my bag.

  6. excuse me, good sir.. what's your opinion about the DC lenses? my friend has the 105 and i thought it was razor sharp, plenty of contrast and the shell feels tough as a rock, but you didn't put that on this list.. is that lens actually bad?

  7. I own a D200 and I am in the process of purchasing the D500, what do you think of this lens, the Tokina AT-X 11-20mm f/2.8 PRO DX Lens for Nikon DX format DSLRs, I also own a Nikon 17-55/2.8 "sweet lens" a 70-200VR/2.8 "the first version which is still great", a Sigma 150mm/2.8 DG HSM APO Macro and a Same 50mm/2.8  DG HSM APO macro variant.

  8. First off, thank you very much for this enlightening video. Since I follow your advices I stopped getting deluded about my purchases and got the 60mm, the 10.5mm and the 17-55mm which I LOVE. I also wanted to ask you a few questions. You seem to prefer the AF-S 35mm F/1.8 DX over the AF 35mm F/2D in this video, is it just because of the price? Also, what do you think of the Tamron SP 70-300mm VC? Would it be a wise choice to sell the tamron just to get the Nikkor 70-300mm? About wide angles, would it be worthy to resell the Tokina 11-20mm to get the Nikkor 12-24mm? And a last question about a walkaround lens: I got the Nikkor 18-140mm a while ago but I'm not really satisfied at all about it despite all the positive reviews I read around. What replacement would you suggest? Many thanks again!

  9. Thank you for this video!
i'm lost on which to choose
    d750 7d mark ii or d500
in my country the d500 costs about 2,600$
    and d750 is about 2,000$
so i looked for alternative, 7d mark ii costs about 1475$
What do you think? comparing these 3? i would really love an indepth answer (sorry for sounding greedy) but i dont know which to choose and why i should pay more
my budget is about 3.Xk$ after ill save up for about 4-5months

  10. I understand sigma is crap but is there one lens you'd recommend for under $300 used for baby photos (about to be a dad and got the d7100)? just got the sigma 17-50mm f2.8 for $250. just went through about a dozen of your videos on dx lenses from the past year and they all seem to be over my budget.

  11. What do you suggest as far as 24-70mm 2.8? or any 2.8 zoom that is close to that range? I'm on a budget, and I really want one for my apsc sensor for low light events. I really don't ever feel like I rarely feel like I ever need something as wide as 18mm so I want a full frame zoom to get that extra reach.
